The potential.

You are the expert of you. I use person centered beliefs which means I go with your flow. I respect your autonomy since you’re the master of your life and it’s your life to live. I operate out of the existential framework, which means I believe that all humans are born to live out their potential and create their authentic selves. You included. You have strengths that need to be celebrated, encouraged, and nourished.

 

The alive-ness.

You have purpose and there is meaning to your life - it’s all up to you. You have this amazing responsibility to yourself to be good and loving and kind - or whatever you want to be. I can help you get there by walking beside you as you identify your values, strengths, goals as well as your barriers and challenges. We’re figuring this life thing out together. Essentially, you get to decide what it means to be alive.

The process.

I may ask you open-ended questions to provoke deeper thought about situations such as, “what does that mean to you?” or to have you notice your whole self such as “where do you feel that anxiety in your body right now?” or to help you identify your emotions such as “I wonder what that must have felt like for you.” I may gently question your actions and have you ponder your reactions. This type of conversation leads to better understanding of who you are, how you think, what you feel, and what matters most to you.
